Want to volunteer? Go ahead, Give back!

Applications are available at the Community Center. Thorough reviews of all applicants are conducted in order to provide a safe and loving environment for our children. Personal reference reviews and criminal histories are completed on all applicants.

Many different volunteer positions, time commitments, duties, and experiences are available!

Here are a few areas where we could use some help:

Sponsor a Birthday Party!

Picture
This is a great small group project!  The Center has a birthday party once a month to celebrate the birthdays of any Center children with birthdays in that month.  Birthday parties are on the third Wednesday of each month, 4-5pm during the school year, and 10:30-11:30 am during the summer.  Younger children (Kindergarten-2nd grade children and 3rd-5th grade girls) attend during the first half hour, and older children (3rd-5th grade boys and 6th grade and older children) attend the second half hour.  Sponsors are asked to provide treats, drinks, decorations, and games (There is usually about 15 minutes for games). Kroger is providing us with cupcakes.

Tutors Needed!

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child's face light up when they finally understand their homework, or bring in a good grade on homework you helped them complete!  At the Center, our children are offered tutoring and homework help every day from 3-5pm throughout the school year.  During the summer, we also need tutors to work with children who may need extra help.

Help in the Kitchen!

Volunteers are always needed to help prepare and serve meals for the children at the Center.  Linda Mills schedules volunteers to help with dinner during the school year, as well as breakfast and lunch during the summer.

Help in the Food Pantry!

The Food Pantry is open every Tuesday from 9am-12pm.  Volunteers are needed each day.  We also take donations of food.  Your group, church, or business could have a food drive that would help us keep the community fed.
